Background:

St Crispin's is a successful, mixed 11 to 18 comprehensive school. It offers a full range of opportunities for personal development within a formal setting. It seeks to promote the best aspects of traditional education with an emphasis on learning, hard work, good behaviour, respect for oneself and for others. As a specialist school in mathematics and computing, students are able to develop and apply these areas of learning in all parts of the curriculum. Learning and sports facilities within the school are very good. Its specialist status has enabled it to develop a state-of-the-art computing centre and also provide departments with computer controlled equipment and interactive whiteboards. In addition all departments have access to ICT equipment in their area of the school. The school benefits from the use of the St Crispin's sports centre as well as having a separate gymnasium and large open sports field. Its library is generously stocked with books and research materials and it has a state-of-the-art drama studio. The school was identified by the DfES as a 'School in Focus' to its work on peer mentoring. The school aims to enable every student to reach their full potential and develop self-esteem, confidence and maturity.
