Background:
The Forest School was founded in 1947; the school is situated three miles west of Wokingham and five miles east of Reading. It moved in 1957 to its current 10-acre site in Winnersh, where there is a further 15 acres of playing fields behind the school. It was a boys' grammar school until 1974. The original buildings have expanded and specialist accommodation continuously refurbished. The school has a strong sporting tradition with facilities including an enclosed swimming pool. It maintains full fixture lists in rugby, soccer, cricket and athletics in addition to a successful fencing squad with national representatives. The school aims to create a high quality and challenging learning environment.
