Background:
The school takes its name from the largest of the three manors of Earley in Reading. The first Whiteknight, John de Earley, appeared in the 14th century, and the Manor of Whiteknights appeared 100 years later. The school'settled on its present site in 1951. The infant block, hall, and dining room were added in 1961, the lower junior block in 1992 and the new upper junior block with library and music room in 1994. Classrooms are all well equipped. The school teaches the full national curriculum, in addition to which it offers lunchtime French club and specialist teaching of music. It also has successful netball, football and athletics clubs. There is an active school association, which organises popular fundraising events. The school aims to maintain a happy, friendly learning environment, which fosters confidence, kindness, respect and trust and ensures that each child feels included, valued and secure.
