Background:
Charters School is a successful school and age range of pupils is 11 to 18. The school has achieved specialist sports college status in 2002. The school has a wide range of sports facilities including netball courts, synthetic tuff pitch. There is specialist accommodation for art, science, home economics, craft, design, technology and music. The school is particularly well equipped for Information and Communication Technology and the number of classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboards is expanding. Other accommodation includes sports hall, gymnasium, computer-aided room, recently extended aroma studio and dining facilities. An extensive library and resource centre was opened in 1992. There are strong community links with local area. The school aims to provide a happy and caring environment in which pupils can flourish.
