Background:
The Palmer Church of England Junior School is the oldest school in Wokingham. The school was sited variously in Denmark Street and in Rose Street, and in 1872 steps were taken to build a new school in Palmer School Road. The foundation stone of the school now stands outside the present building. The school has an outdoor heated swimming pool, which is used for swimming lessons in summer.
