Background:
Founded in 1869; situated in pleasant grounds in heart of Brightwalton village, next to church. Three classrooms have since been added to the building. Over-subscribed, with two applications per place. Children are encouraged to participate in a variety of after-school clubs, including football, netball, line-dancing, flower-arranging, disco-dancing, creative crafts, chess, cycling proficiency, and board games. The school forges community links by inviting parents and local residents to help in the school; many parents help to run after-school clubs and visitors come to talk to children on topics of educational interest. Ethos: 'Relationships at the school are very good. We have links with the local community and the church, and there is a nurturing culture; the older children enjoy playing with the younger ones.
