Background:

The school is housed in a building, which opened in 1872 and retains much of its Victorian character. A museum in the school house provides a fascinating insight into the life of the school and village. Facilities at the school include a large field and an imaginative play area. Children are taught a variety of games skills, athletics, country and modern dance, gymnastics and provision is also made for swimming and outdoor activity lessons. Brass, piano and woodwind tuition is available on a fee-paying basis from specialist music teachers. Extra-curricular activities include computers, football, netball, sports, recorder, guitar and choir, and there is also the opportunity to join judo or French clubs on a fee-paying basis. Older children have the chance to take part in a residential activity. The school actively supports fundraising, in particular for Children's Aid Direct, The Children's Society and Comic Relief. The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice.
