Background:
Celebrated centenary in 1999; small, rural comprehensive school drawing from primaries on the edge of Reading; 17-acre site, with ample sports facilities. Pupils taught in groups of between 20 and 24 to one teacher. A member of support staff is also available for those with learning difficulties. The school regards its arts subjects, notably drama, art and music, as considerable strengths, with outstanding performances and academic achievement. Individual sporting success, with pupils competing at county, national and professional levels. English and the sciences are also a strength; 'excellent relationship' between staff, students and parents. Artsmark Silver.
