The school is situated in the south of the historic market town of Newbury and set in beautiful parkland, with a Victorian country house at the entrance to its site. The school accelerated learning includes an enrichment programme of additional GCSEs for gifted and talented students and early entry policy for AS and A level. The school has identified as one of the top ten schools in the country for sports. The school has a wide range of curricular strengths. In addition to Specialist status, Sportsmark and Artsmark Awards, Students have recently achieved national top five results in GCSE IT and French. The school has international sporting and community links with schools in USA, South Africa, France and Germany and a sports tour to Australia. It is also the lead school within a newly established extended schools cluster and is one of 18 schools nationally to be identified by the Youth Sports Trust as a Partnership School. The school aims to provide a happy and successful school where students enjoy learning, where all have the opportunity to succeed and feel valued as individuals. An ethos, which fosters both 'excellence' and 'equity'. Relationships between all members of the school's community are excellent.The attitude of students is very positive and behaviour is very good.Students participate enthusiastically in the extensive range of extra-curricular activities on offer and his contributes to their personal development.The school cares for its students very well.
