Background:
Trinity School opened as a 11-18 school in September 1999, following the closure of two 11-16 schools, The Turnpike and Shaw House. It now occupies the old Shaw House site, where significant building work has enabled the contents of both schools to be combined and an additional 400 youngsters to be accommodated. In September 2000 a new classroom and administration block was added, a new library opened and sixth form accommodation was completed. Most of the technology department was renovated, as were the business studies and art departments. In 2001, the maths and science departments moved back into their permanent accommodation and the performing arts department moved into its new block.
