Background:

St Edmund Campion Primary was opened in 1963 to support the growing number of Catholic children in Maidenhead. It is situated in the western part of the town and is enclosed within a private residential area. It is a large greenfield site, which includes the parish church and a large secondary school. The school considers its links with the parish and parents to be strength of the school, along with the range of extra-curricular activities available at lunchtime and after school. St Edmund has 10 classrooms, large sports and assembly hall, and a spacious multi-purpose entrance hall. Extra-curricular facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, a large sports field, two playgrounds and an ICT suite with 15 computers. Activities include an orchestra, football, netball, gardening, chess, French and drama. The school also takes part in fundraising events in order to donate money to charities. The broad based curriculum of the school is designed to enable each individual to journey and grow, to Christian maturity whilst developing an appreciation and respect for the cultures and faiths of other people. The school aims to provide purposeful and attractive learning environment.
