Background:
Woolhampton Church of England Primary School is set at the edge of the village of Woolhampton, six miles west of Reading, and draws pupils from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds. It was built by the Countess of Falmouth to educate the children of the Woolhampton estate and village. The national curriculum consists of nine subjects which includes the core subjects - English, mathematics, science and technology and foundation subjects - history, geography, music, art, physical education, religious education and personal, social and health education. The school has a wide range of extra-curricular activities which includes country dancing, drama, athletics, French, craft, recorders, tennis, chess, rugby. The school has developed strong links with the John Simmonds True based at Rushall Farm and the Thatcham Discovery Centre. The school aims to enable every child to progress towards the realisation of his potential, within Christian principles.
