Background:
Large, attractive primary school that opened in 1938; modernised to provide full range of facilities, including a dining room, a main hall that is well-equipped for physical education and used for assemblies, library, computer suite, pottery room, home economics room, and music conservatory. All children have access to wide range of science and technology equipment. Adjoining the school is a playing field, which can accommodate athletics, rounders or two football pitches; large playground, which is used for netball, short tennis and other games. Over-subscribed, with 1.5 applications per place. Artsmark Gold (2004); Artsmark Silver; Investor in People status (2005); DfES achievement award (2003); Activemark Gold (2005).
