Background:

Windsor Boys' School was founded in 1908 as the boys' grammar school. It became a comprehensive school in 1977; 'the school is steeped in tradition but with an eye firmly on the future. The school's facilities include eight 'fully-equipped' science laboratories, a language workshop and audio-visual room, a block 'exclusively built for design and technology and automotive engineering. In 1994 a new block consisting of a 'large' sports hall, drama studio and a 'state of the art' recording studio. A range of extra-curricular activities are available to the pupils including outdoor pursuits and cart club and the school is proud of its sporting achievement, 'the school is reknowned for its sporting success at national and international level'. The ethos of the school 'is based on achievement and the realisation of ambition'. Specialist school in the performing arts; sports hub within the school sport coordinator programme. Active member of the specialist schools trust with head master sitting in national council and national head teacher steering group. A 'young leaders' among staff working with 55 trust and the national college of school leadership.
