Priory School is a primary and nursery school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is three to 11. The amalgamation of Priory First School and Priory Middle School into Priory School took place in September 1986. It became Grant Maintained in 1992 and became a Foundation School in 1999. The school is in a most attractive setting with mature gardens and a pond. There are extensive playing fields and playgrounds. It has 29 classrooms and teaching areas for cookery, music and ICT. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. The school aims to provide a calm, positive and purposeful environment.
