Background:
St Mary School was originally in Hosier Street, near St Mary's Butts, and was founded in 1851. It moved into the new building in Coley Park in 1969, and is now on a site with its own playing fields overlooking the Kennet Valley. It is a mixed one-form entry school. There are three infant classes, two lower junior and two upper junior classes.The school will enlarge from one-form to two-form entry on September 1 2004. A large and ambitious building programme will be underway by this time.
